Treadmill?

I am sorry that I haven't been keeping up with you guys here but I've been reading and really appreciate how wonderfully positive you all are. I actually have been doing better with portion sizes and have gotten out for a few walks but have not been doing as much as I'd like to... which is why I have a question...

What are your thoughts on treadmills?

I used to have a bias against them because I love hiking and being outside but lately I'm thinking that I really might benefit from having access to one at home.

I have heard so many people say that they buy a treadmill only to have it sit unused but I'm thinking it might be the solution for me as part of my problem with getting out is weather, access to facilities and the time of day I have the most energy (later in the evening).

What are your thoughts on treadmills? What about fitness DVDs?

I used to have one when I lived in Tundra Country, and even used it when time permitted. (Which was in the winter, when cabin fever set in BADLY.) I liked it. We thought about getting one not that long ago, but down here the weather is nice more days than not, so we opted not to make the purchase.

Where you live, I think it would be a good idea. Go for it!!

I had one, did not use it enough, but I was younger. Now I wish I had one and husband won't let me. But, like Mrs Mom, our weather is not too bad right now and I can get my butt outside to get good walks in.
I am new to this blog, but already find kindred friends here!

I say do it. If you don't use it, sell it on craigs list. I like having a treadmill in front of the tv. Then I really have no excuse for not getting excersise.

I know very few people who have them and actually use them. It would take real dedication....

I have a treadmill and I love it. Sadly there are times when it sits unused. But that is usually due to injury or lack of time or life getting in the way.
I have it in front of a TV in a spare bedroom. I pop in a DVD and walk/jog away.
oh, and the only time it is used as a clothes hanger is after a good workout... makes a nice place to air out sweaty workout clothes! lol
